THE ST. OLAV PATH - S:T OLAVSLEDEN
The St. Olav Path is the world’s northernmost pilgrim route, stretching 580 kilometers from Selånger in Sweden to Trondheim in Norway. Winding over mountains, through forests, along lakes, and past historic sites, it offers a journey rich in nature and heritage. Often called Scandinavia’s Camino de Santiago, the trail allows travelers to follow in the footsteps of pilgrims from centuries past.
The route is usually walked in stages of about 21 kilometers per day, requiring moderate walking experience. Paths vary from forest tracks and gravel roads to asphalt and grass trails. Some elevation changes occur in the Åre area, but there is no real climbing, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the scenery.
