Terms & Conditions

PILGRIM ROUTES

All routes are well signposted. You will receive maps from Nordic Pilgrim showing the locations of accommodations. Sweden, Norway, and Finland are generally very safe countries. However, traveling along a pilgrimage route – whether on foot or by bicycle – is adventurous and involves some risks. The routes cross forests, waterways, remote areas, and mountains. In case of emergencies or questions, you can always contact Nordic Pilgrim via phone, SMS or WhatsApp.

 

Safety Tips:

  • Check weather forecasts daily.

  • Get updates from accommodation owners before setting out.

  • Do not travel during extreme weather conditions.

  • Stick to the marked routes.

  • Carry enough food and water.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodations along these pilgrim trails vary in type and standard due to the sparsely populated areas along the routes. It is not possible to have a hotel standard with ensuite bathroom every single night. In some locations however, you will have a choice of accommodations, which will be presented during trip preparation.

  • B&Bs

  • Cabins

  • Private homes

  • Hotels​

BOOKING PROCEDURE

To book a trip through Nordic Pilgrim:

  • Contact us at info@nordicpilgrim.com or +31 6 12834782.

  • We will create a personalized itinerary based on your preferences, arrival, and departure dates.

  • You will receive a quotation. The final price may differ from the target price.

  • Upon agreement, the trip is booked, and a 20% down payment is invoiced.

  • If accommodations are fully booked, we will suggest alternatives. Prices may be adjusted accordingly.

  • Final payment before you start your trip. 

  • Your money is kept safe by STO Garant until you have finished your trip – only then will they pay out the sum.

TRAVEL SUM

The total cost of your trip depends on your specific choices: meals, luggage transfer, rest days, etc. The quotation includes only the services described.

STO GARANT GUARANTEE SCHEME

Nordic Pilgrim participates in the STO Garant guarantee scheme to provide financial security. Verify participation here: STO Garant Members.

  • Guarantee details: STO Garant Guarantee Scheme

  • Payments for applicable trips are made to an escrow account until completion.

  • If services are not delivered due to Nordic Pilgrim’s insolvency, STO Garant implements the guarantee.

CHANGES TO THE TRAVEL PROGRAM

If unforeseen circumstances require changes:

  • We will prepare a new schedule in consultation with you.

  • Travel costs may be adjusted.

  • If changes are significant and you do not wish to continue, you can cancel your trip.

  • Additional requested changes may incur extra costs (e.g., new travel dates, number of travelers, meals, luggage transfer).

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you have valid cancellation insurance, you may claim costs from your insurer. We can provide a letter for your insurance company.
Cancellation fees per traveler:

  • 6–4 weeks before departure: 20% of the travel sum

  • 4–2 weeks before departure: 50% of the travel sum

  • 2–1 weeks before departure: 75% of the travel sum

  • Less than 1 week or no-show: 100% of the travel sum

Special Cases: if travel is impossible due to natural disasters, fires, or other dangers, fees are reduced to the down payment (20%). Notify cancellations via info@nordicpilgrim.com.

LIABILITY

  • Nordic Pilgrim is responsible for proper execution of agreed services. Nordic Pilgrim is not liable for damages resulting from:

  • Traveller-related circumstances, including health issues

  • Actions of third parties (accommodations, transport)

  • Uncontrollable events or force majeure (natural disasters, war, strikes, transport delays)

  • Theft, loss, or damage of personal property

  • Illness

TRAVELLER OBLIGATIONS

You must provide all relevant information that may affect your trip. Incorrect or incomplete information leading to additional costs may be charged to you. Inform us of any personal circumstances (illness, disability, etc.) before booking, including for fellow travelers if you book on their behalf.

  • Travel insurance

  • Cancellation insurance

  • Checking your health insurance coverage for travel abroad
